History and Rebranding of the Student Housing Center (PRP)
1. Initial Establishment (2005 – 2012)
The Student Housing Center (PRP) was formerly known as the Student Housing Unit. This unit was placed under the Student Affairs Office (HEP) from 2005 to 2012.
2. Rebranding and Restructuring (2012)
On May 20, 2012, the University Board of Directors approved the rebranding of the HEP Housing Unit to the Student Housing and Transportation Center (P2P).
- This initiative aimed to:
- Enhance residential college management.
- Provide better student transportation services.
- This restructuring strengthened the management methods of residential colleges and improved student accommodation coordination.
3. Structural Enhancement (2019)
On March 24, 2019, through the Executive Committee Meeting No. 5/2019, a proposal for a new organizational structure at UTHM was approved.
The Student Housing and Transportation Center (P2P) was rebranded as the Student Housing Center (PRP), effective April 1, 2019.
This restructuring aimed to strengthen university governance based on four main areas:
- Institutional Governance.
- Finance and Revenue Generation.
- Human Resources.
- Academic Management and Student Admissions.
4. New Restructuring (2021 – 2022)
Through Management Circular No. 23/2021, the University Board of Directors (LPU) approved several new university restructurings.
Starting in early 2022, all functions and governance of residential colleges and non-dormitory student offices were consolidated under a single responsibility center, the Student Housing Center (PRP).
This restructuring aligns with UTHM’s four main functional clusters:
- UTHM Edu-Train
- UTHM Technopreneur
- UTHM Prihatin
- UTHM Governance
Refinement of the PRP Organizational Structure was approved by the Executive Committee Meeting No. 9/2022 on June 15, 2022.
